A care coordinator for the culture. Part community health worker, part doula, part healthcare-informed best friend.
The clinician does the medical work: history, labs, diagnosis, treatment plan. The Healthcare Homegirl does the work that usually lands on the patient once the visit ends.
For a lot of our patients, healthcare has felt cold, confusing, or dismissive. The Healthcare Homegirl is the antidote: a consistent human who knows their name, knows their story, and knows how the system works.

Kyndred is a virtual, holistic health home transforming the healthcare experience and outcomes for Black women across the United States. Our current focus is supporting our patients through the kinds of symptoms and patterns that usually fall through the cracks in standard care — from period and hormone concerns to gut health, energy, and sexual wellness. We do this through virtual visits, diagnostic support, and longer-term care programs, paired with Sugar (our education hub), Healthcare Homegirls (care navigation), Kyn (our community), and the Kyndred Care Network, a trusted specialist roster that extends support beyond any single appointment.
Black women already invest in beauty, fashion, and travel that treat them well. Healthcare has never offered the same. Kyndred is built to feel elevated and unmistakably ours, with unhurried, whole-person care that helps her feel well for the long haul. As our Healthcare Homegirl, you're a big part of what makes that experience real.
We are in an early, active build phase, working toward a nationwide, hybrid care model that meets our patients online, in our neighborhoods, and across every stage of life — with care that feels intentional, affirming, and built with us in mind. Our small, growing team is focused on changing not just individual visits, but the standard of care our community can expect across the healthcare system.
We currently serve patients in New York and Delaware, with California up next. Explore where we are → https://www.withkyndred.com/service-map

You'd be our very first Healthcare Homegirl. You'll engage with current and potential patients and help build the navigation model future Healthcare Homegirls will work from.
You'll work most closely with Tesiah, our Chief Clinical Officer, while collaborating with our other co-founders, Brittany, Chief Executive Officer, and Kimberly, Chief Learning Officer. We're small, so what you hear from patients and your own ideas come straight to us and shape what we build.
A Healthcare Homegirl takes a patient’s hand and guides them through Kyndred and through the larger healthcare system around it.
Inside Kyndred, that means knowing our care inside and out and helping each person find what fits. Say she came in for a WTF Visit and her results point to something bigger. Before she says yes to Rhythm & Flow, she wants to know what it actually involves. Or she's going through our medication abortion care (TMAB) and needs someone steady on the other end of the text. Or she just wrapped a program and is wondering if a Kyndred Care Membership makes sense for her. Outside Kyndred, it's the specialist, the community program, the pharmacy, the insurance question.
Wherever she is, she's not figuring out the next step by herself.

This role is 20 hours a week, majority remote, with a flexible schedule. We ask for some responsiveness during Kyndred’s weekday business hours (Monday-Thursday: 8am-4pm EST), in addition to follow-up to patient inquiries within 24 hours (or within service specific timeframes). We’ll agree upon which days/times work best for you. Start dates are rolling, and we onboard as patient volume grows.
We're early, so in the first few weeks there may not be enough patients to fill 20 hours. That time goes into building: workflows, message templates, escalation pathways, and the resource guide for your city. You're paid for your hours either way.
This is a patient-facing role first. As more patients come in, most of your time will be spent supporting them, and your remaining time is used for building. If you'd rather spend most of your day on systems and documentation, this probably won't feel like a good fit at this stage.

Where we are right now
Kyndred is in our early stages. We're a grant-supported and self-funded company, with no venture capital funding. We're looking for someone who is dedicated to helping us grow and willing to grow with us.
